Image-Guided Weathering: A New Approach Applied to Flow Phenomena - Supplementary Material

چکیده
This document contains additional material for the paper ”Image-Guided Weathering: A New Approach Applied to Flow Phenomena”. This material consists of a set of maps and parameters obtained for different stain exemplars. For each exemplar, the following maps are shown: the input stain image, the extracted degree map, the simulated stain after fitting the parameters, the synthesized detail map, and the non-linear color function. The fitted parameters for all the exemplars are included in Table 1 for reference. Figures 1 to Figure 3 first show results for stains fitted without using our flow deflection model. In Figure 3, the fittings were done using multiple stains at the same time. Two groups of stains are shown, one corresponding to three efflorescence stains (top) and another corresponding to two mold stains (bottom). As each group of stains belongs to the same surface and stain material, the stains were fitted using shared parameters for both the target surface and the stain material. Figures 4 to Figure 7 show results for stains fitted using our flow deflection model. Finally, Figure 8 shows exemplars of stains on more complex target objects, where non-flat proxies are used to approximate the targets during the fitting.

Image editing for weathering effects with geometric details
We present an image-editing technique that can synthesize weathering effects with fine-scale geometric variations that occur together with weathering phenomena. We extract such fine-scale geometries as high-frequency components of the image semi-automatically according to the estimated weathering distribution in the image. The geometric details are modified when (de)-weathering is applied, yiel...
متن کاملA New Approach for Constructing Pore Network Model of Two Phase Flow in Porous Media
Development of pore network models for real porous media requires a detailed understanding of physical processes occurring on the microscopic scale and a complete description of porous media morphology. In this study, the microstructure of porous media has been represented by three dimensional networks of interconnected pores and throats which are designed by an object oriented approach. Af...
متن کاملLearning a Dictionary of Shape Epitomes with Applications to Image Labeling: Supplementary Material
In the main paper, we have proposed a new representation for image shape: a dictionary of shape epitomes, which explicitly include hidden variables to encode shift and rotation. We have also applied this representation for semantic image labeling. In this supplementary material, we further show the versatility of shape epitomes by employing them for edge detection and local appearance modeling.
متن کاملCategorical fracture orientation modeling: applied to an Iranian oil field
Fracture orientation is a prominent factor in determining the reservoir fluid flow direction in a formation because fractures are the major paths through which fluid flow occurs. Hence, a true modeling of orientation leads to a reliable prediction of fluid flow. Traditionally, various distributions are used for orientation modeling in fracture networks. Although they offer a fairly suitable est...
متن کاملImage-based Material Weathering
The appearance manifold [WTL∗06] is an efficient approach for modeling and editing time-variant appearance of materials from the BRDF data captured at single time instance. However, this method is difficult to apply in images in which weathering and shading variations are combined. In this paper, we present a technique for modeling and editing the weathering effects of an object in a single ima...
